The ideal 'Georgian Poetry'--a book which would err neither by omission nor by inclusion, and would contain the best, and only the best poems of the best, and only the best poets of the day--could only be achieved, if at all, by dint of a Royal Commission. The present volume is nothing of the kind.

I may add one word bearing on my aim in selection. 'Georgian Poetryvolume five of five, edited by Sir Edward Marsh, anthology of poetry of the early twentieth century, 1920-1922.

A beautiful book, and some lovely stuff inside. The volume is so large that I had enough reading to last me a month. I think I love it as much for the history behind it as for the literary merit, but now that we're at the centennial anniversary of when the Georgian Poetry volumes first appeared, I think a little historical reflection can be forgiven.5/5.
